These Slider Loft ladders offer excellent quality and strength at a great price. This ladder has a maximum load capacity of 150kg (23.5 stone) and conforms to the latest EN14975 safety standard for your reassurance. Twin large red handrails are included for safer use. Non slip, wide treads ensure safe and comfortable climbing. The pivot arm ensures easy and smooth operation. Non slip rubber feet are supplied for safer use and to protect your floor coverings. A full fixing kit is included, and we even include the hardware to convert your existing "lift up" loft hatch door to "swing down" into the room. Also included is an extra long aluminium operating pole supplied for ease of use. For extra strength, the ladder's rungs pass through the ladder's stiles and are crimped on the outside therefore giving a neater, stronger ladder. Supplied with full instructions written in plain English. Suitable for floor to loft floor heights between 2.13m (7') and 3m (9'10"). Minimum hatch length- 42.1cm (1'4"). Got this ladder when I moved into a new house.
Pros:
- Lightweight; easy enough to assemble
- 3 sections give wide range of ceiling heights
- Contains all the bits and pieces to attach the ladder and to convert your loft hatch if need be
Cons:
- Your old loft hatch probably won't fit underneath it so you will need to convert with the kit provided or get a very thin piece of wood for the hatch (same for all loft ladders I'm sure).
- Sturdy enough once properly put in place but if it isn't positioned well it can feel flimsy
- The red handles just get in the way when carrying stuff up the ladder
As for the seller: BPS Access Solutions delivered quickly but didn't respond to a query I sent at all, which doesn't bode that well for potential customer support. Luckily I haven't needed to test that yet.
